Artificial Intelligence (AI) is now offered in almost everything from answering customer queries and teaching maths lessons to planning diets and helping doctors diagnose diseases. So it's natural that many people are curious: is it possible to create a website for a business simply with ChatGPT or another AI tool?
Our answer: it can. But is it worth it - and will it be enough?
IoT tools: fast, convenient but... superficial
Today, AI can do a lot: once you've formulated a task, it will give you a suggestion for the internal structure of your website, and drafts and images of texts generated according to your business description. The DI can even prepare a simple website design and code snippets that you can use immediately.
Sounds amazing - especially if you need a quick prototype or want to test an idea. But if you're talking about a website that needs to represent your business, persuade your customers, and work securely and quickly - IoT alone won't do.
Where is DI stuck?
The first thing to understand is that artificial intelligence generates what it has "learned" from millions of examples. Have you noticed that it is usually easy to recognise both the images generated by the AI and, in many cases, the text? The same is true for websites: the design generated by the IoT looks clichéd, lacking distinction, the text is too generic, does not reflect the face of your business, and often introduces mistakes that no human would make.
Similarly, when building a house: an IoT engineer can draw a plan or generate pictures of the rooms, but if you want to live in the house, you will need an architect, a designer, an engineer and finally a builder.
The value of professionals: what does a real person bring?
Brand exclusivityą: Experienced professionals create a website design that reflects the uniqueness of your business - not only does it look good, it also builds trust.
Strateginand a broader approachį: For us professionals, building a website isn't just about pretty pictures - it has to work. That's why we analyse your customers, set goals (e.g. more enquiries or sales) and create solutions that correlate with each other, so that your website, your corporate identity and all your marketing materials are unified into a single, effective organism.
Quality control: This is perhaps the most important thing: people notice details that the IoT doesn't pick up on - like how the text looks on different screens, or how the form works, or the nuances of this or that slogan and the layout of texts and visuals, how easy it is to use this or that solution, etc.
And if I don't know how to code, will ChatGPT help me?
In short, yes, but to a very limited extent. If you have a clear idea of what you want to show on the website, ChatGPT or another IoT tool may be of some help. For example, it can:
- suggest what pages you need (home, services, contacts, etc.);
- write texts based on your activity description or suggested keywords;
- generate sample website code (HTML/CSS) that can be copied to a free platform.
However, it is important to know that you will still need at least some technical understanding of how to upload code or create an account on the hosting platform. Any 'glitches' - such as a website not showing up on your phone or photos not loading - are likely to require further clarification or specialist help.
So if you don't have any experience in web development, it's best to call on a team that can professionally take care of everything from idea to launch. In this case, ChatGPT can only be an additional tool, not the main developer.
And if I already have a website, can ChatGPT update it?
If you already have a website, but it looks outdated, stuck, or you want to add new features - ChatGPT can help, but certainly won't do everything for you.
For example, an IoT tool can analyse your website's code (if you submit it) and suggest corrections or improvements. It can also help you understand why something isn't working and provide solutions. Or generate additional code samples if you want to add a new column, contact form or animation - called functionality development, for example.
Sounds great in theory, but in reality there are a lot of BUTs: for example, if your old website was built with a specific content management system (e.g. WordPress with lots of plug-ins), the situation may be more complex - and you'll need more technical knowledge. Or if your site is old or chaotic, ChatGPT's suggestions may not always be a "first time" fit - you'll have to do a lot of tedious debugging and testing.
In short, the IoT can be a great help in finding solutions or ideas for updating a website, but the practical implementation usually has to be left to the professionals. Especially if you want everything to work quickly, safely and without additional headaches.
A website is not a one-off project
A website is like a living organism: it needs to be updated, maintained, react to customer behaviour and track results. IoT can - and does - help in this area, for example by analysing statistics, planning, optimising site speed and security or improving SEO. But again: planning, strategy and improvement are the job of professionals, who, by the way, often also use specialised IoT-based tools.
Finally, when should I contact the team?
IoT can be a useful facilitator, but the real value comes from the people who know the work. And it's worth using professionals when it matters to you:
- have a reliable, professional and tailor-made website;
- accurately and effectively reveal the strengths of your business;
- keeping customers' attention and growing sales;
- peace of mind about technical nuances, website maintenance, speed and security.
